Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: North Park 16.5-oz. Munique glass
Price: $3.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Feb. 12, 2021
Consumed: Feb. 19, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Got this and way too many beers on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Have enjoyed the two times I went to Original 40 but admittedly it had been almost 1 ½ years since I’d been there. It is good to see them canning and in stores. Online description called it a “West Coast IPA hopped with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo and Centennial.”
Poured a pale, yellow clear color with two fingers of white frothy head. Could see some slow-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding spotty lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.00)
Citra and Centennial jumped out in the nose for me. Also passion fruit, fruit punch, lime, Fruit Loop cereal, pine, Simcoe, papaya, tangerine rind and hints of earthy malt. Even a little better out of the can with the addition of grapefruit. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order got Citra, Centennial, passion fruit, fruit punch, lime, Fruit Loop cereal, pine, Simcoe, onion, tangerine rind, papaya and peppery spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Long, bitter, slightly spicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
Outstanding overall. (Overall - 4.00)

Clear, pale golden brew with plenty of foam in the Affligem chalice. Aromatic with orange peel and a hint of lime and pine. Sudsy and a little sharp on the tongue. Deep and dark-toned fruity flavor with scorched cedar. Tastes of citrus peel, green apple, tart white grapes.
Interesting malty sweetness throughout, but well balanced with bitter and acidity. Seriously hopped but a modest bitter aftertaste. Overall this is crisp, clean, and highly drinkable. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine. Not dated.
