Nod to classic WC IPA's with a bit of modern flair. Nelson, Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial and Idaho 7 give this brew a mild but present bitterness behind citrus and pine with hints of pineapple and melon.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American IPA
Glass: North Park 16.5-oz. Munique glass
Price: $3.49
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: April 6, 2021
Consumed: April 23, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this and a bunch of other stuff on a recent trip to Windmill Farms. Untappd description was “Nod to classic WC IPA's with a bit of modern flair. Nelson, Simcoe, Cascade, Centennial and Idaho 7 give this brew a mild but present bitterness behind citrus and pine with hints of pineapple and melon.”
Poured a medium yellow clear color with three fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see some slow-moving bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent uneven layered lacing. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25)
Smelled pineapple, orange citrus, herbal, caramel malt, pine, grapefruit rind and melon. For mentioned hops, Simcoe and Cascade initially, followed by Idaho 7 and Nelson, and lesser Centennial. Just as good out of the can with more Nelson. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted about as good as the nose. Got orange citrus, melon, pineapple, bitter pine, grapefruit rind, herbal, peach skin and lime. For mentioned hops, Simcoe, Nelson and Cascade led the way, followed by Idaho 7 and Centennial. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Just an outstanding West Coast IPA. (Overall - 4.00)
