Another juice bomb, this time weighing in at 8.7% with a finishing gravity of 6.0P!! Azacca brings a powdered sugar and tangerine peel aroma sitting over tropical fruit salad.

Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
Price: $3.99
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: July 11, 2021
Consumed: July 24, 2021
Misc.: No canned on date
Grabbed a can of this and some other stuff while looking for some North Park cans at Windmill Farms. Online description from Bine & Vine read “Another juice bomb, this time weighing in at 8.7% with a finishing gravity of 6.0P!! Azacca brings a powdered sugar and tangerine peel aroma sitting over tropical fruit salad.”
Poured a light golden hazy color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Plenty of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Perfect spiderweb foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled those Azacca hops right away. Also lime, Fruity Pebbles, passion fruit, mixed fruit cup, orange, tangerine, papaya, melon, lemon zest and powdered sugar (really thought this was some kind of sugary flavor and then I looked at the description - powdered sugar makes so much sense). A little better out of the can. (Smell - 3.75)
Tasted even better than the nose. Surprised that Sabro isn’t involved. In order got Azacca, coconut, lime, Fruity Pebbles, passion fruit, orange, tangerine rind, mixed fruit cup, papaya, melon, lemon zest, powdered sugar, pineapple, grapefruit and hints of peppery spice. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)
This was really good. Just an outstanding hazy double IPA. (Overall - 4.00)
