16oz can purchased at Whistle Punk Brewing as part of the Lester Cup six pack back in 2021. Said can has been languishing in the very, very, far back spotted my fridge till now. Therefore, it is not remotely a fresh beer, but, seeing as it's a somewhat high ABV pastry stout, it might still be salvageable, drinking wise.
Poured into a hidden mother snifter, this was a very dark brown, virtually black, which conceded absolutely nothing when held up to light. Moderate sized khaki colored head after a hard pour.
The nose is faintly tiramisu like, but I'm not sure I'd make the tiramisu connection if I didn't already know that's what it was brewed to impersonate. It's kind of a light, sugary, cinnamon like aroma.
Quite a bit closer to tiramisu in the taste than in the nose. It's held up fairly well. There's a very light, roasty char as well more on the back end.
Mouth feel is a little watery for the style, but not to the point of being a deal breaker.
Surprised how well this held up, considering it's under 10% abv. Although the nose wasn't particularly tearing if you like, it might have been when fresher, and the flavor absolutely came through in the taste. Not bad at all for how long I let it sit.
