Really glad I had a chance to try this beer. Stopped at the brewery on a whim on our way to As for vacation after the @#$&%! pandemic. This beer was worth the stop alone!
Poured from tap into a small snifter (had two of them). Deep reddish purple with beautiful pinkish head and curtain lacing. Smell and taste of sweet dark red grapes - reminds me of dark purple grapes I ate from the vine as a kid. A rich earthy, woodsy smell and taste as well. Nice full feel. Definitely imperial in nature, but not boozy or heavy. Dangerous!
