they were promoting this one as a lager not as a kolsch when i was in, its super light, fine beer but not as clean on the ferment as i want this sort of thing to be. i like that i can taste the yeast, no issue there, but this is a little soapy at the end, a hint of melted plastic or something, like the yeast was pitched too warm or something, and in a beer this light there is nowhere for these flaws to hide. i like the light body and the high carbonation, i like the simple malt bill too, very pale barley appears to be it, and its all that is needed. no real hops on this, but thats not the point here, and with a more refined ferment this would be excellent. its not way off, but it makes the beer seem a little more amateur than any of the other ones i drank while i was in. still, nice to have something light on the menu among all the bold recipes they have working. super cool space here too, nice folks, and a place i would definitely recommend visiting, just maybe skip this forgettable lager and head straight into their other offerings...
