Poured into a Nonic.

Pours light gold and clear. Nice head and lacing.

Pale sweet malts and faint hopping on the nose.

Fairly sweet malts. The grassy hops could be a little stronger.

Nice medium mouthfeel. Almost crisp.

Tough to have a true crisp Kolsch with an ABV at this level. Still tasty.

EDIT--Re-reviewed in July 2024 after original review in June 2022

If possible, it's even more crystal clear on re-review. It's a great looking beer, with steady fine streams of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. The ABV is just a touch lower now (6.5% instead of 6.9%), with a bit less sweetness and a bit more grass. It's still not "crisp," and just can't be, even at a bit lower ABV; and so, not quite true to style. But it's noticeably better now than the first time around. A very interesting "heavy" Kolsch.
