Poured from a pint can into a Nonic.
Pours slightly hazed dark gold with an outstanding head that lingers well and submits to solid lacing.
Aromas of caramel and pale malt, grass, earth, and resin.
The brew delivers sweet malt on the tip of the tongue. Midstream is some pleasant graininess. Then the hops arrive and they are welcome but not overwhelming--grass, earth, and a touch of resin again. And then some mineral notes like a lager at the finish. Not watered down but could use a bit more flavor.
The feel is excellent. Medium bodied but very drinkable. Not quite "crisp" but quite drying.
The pseudo-lager yeast does a nice number on this one, providing some nice dryness. It's a darn good beer all around.
