Our biggest (non-barrel aged) beer yet! Tedious Fool is an Imperial Stout with copious amounts of hand-scraped vanilla beans and lactose. We're tedious fools when it comes to flavor.

Black color. Big, beige head. Roasted malt, chocolate, and vanilla in the aroma. Moderately sweet, malty taste with roasted bitterness at the end. Good.

Severance Tedious Fool Imperial Stout, 8.7% ABV. Pours black with a two-finger medium-brown head that left little lacing. Nose is vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roast malt and vanilla, slightly sweet, moderately bitter. Dry mouthfeel, overall very good.

Pours opaque and viscous with a nice bit of cola lacing, even if the head wasn't much.
Aromas of vanilla, coffee, chocolate, sugar cookie, and lactose. Not overly roasty.
Cake batter and semi-sweet chocolate meld with cookie dough on the tip of the tongue. A bit of char and toast in mid-stream, and then--let the vanilla begin. It is all over the back of the palate, along with some brown sugar. Hints of booze, but not much, at the finish.
Remarkably light for the style. I'm not saying it's light. It's an AIS. But it's not thick or heavy. Creamy but drying at the finish.
A unique imperial stout, and that is this brewer's calling card--defying style standards. Skews a bit sweet, and could use a little more roasted notes, but it is very smooth, restrained in its heft, and tasty.
