This Marzen has an old-world outdoor taste and a modern day feel. Savory smoke envelops the caramel malts and sweet cedar resin releasing a smooth easy drinking balanced Lager that sends smoke signals to have more.

Poured into a nonic.

Pours a dark clear brown with an excellent head and super lacing.

Toasted malts and cedar notes on the nose along with yeasty bread dough.

The brew is a mixture of caramel malt sweet and mild citrus tart on the tip of the tongue. The smoke manifests with more body in midstream along with some cedar and grass bitterness. Initially, the brew seems to have too much bitterness, but the caramel malts grow in strength as the brew warms.

The brew is solidly medium. Decent carbonation and lift.

Conflicted on this one. Unique but it feels like the hopping got out of hand just a bit.

16oz can firmly into a 20oz mug.
L: Pours a rusty red dark iced-tea color with an off white 1" semi-creamy & bubbly head going to edge foam. Mild carbonation and thin skeletal lacing here & there.
S: Malted caramel, black pepper, smoked sweet bread dough, wet dog.
T: Tart, zippy lime zest, light smoke, bitter black tea and cedar all the way through the finish. It is for the most part sweet. Cedar resin is in the forefront and is entirely welcome.
F: A pronounced med-heavy mouthfeel that is smooth and glassy. It is moderately drying and very lightly tacky.
O: A very tasty American craft marzen lager that has a pleasant amount of smokiness that beckons it's earthy hops to come out and play with the malts. It reminds me of a hand-pulled old world beer enjoyed from a cedar cup. It is excellent in it's style.
