A sour stout? Color me curious! We layered a sweet stout over a rasbperry kettle sour for a unique tasting experience with a notes of dark chocolate and tart raspberry.

Poured into a nonic.

Pours very dark but discernably clear or at least translucent. Limited but lingering tan head. Very decent lacing.

Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, and chocolate covered cherry.

Roasted malts on the tip of the tongue are quickly washed over with berry sweetness, a bit of lactose, and hints of chocolate. And then the acidity arrives and brings it home. An interesting balance of sweet, roasted, and sour.

The brew is medium at most. Although not that carbonated, it delivers a medium but drying finish.

An interesting mixture of toasted malt sweetness and berry sour.
