Poured into a tulip.
Pours pale gold--nearly straw gold like a wit. Fairly cloudy. A decent bone-white head. Limited retention but outstanding lacing.
Aromas of orange, lemon, and modest spice.
Mild malt sweetness on the front of the palate. Balanced with a unique blend of tart wheat in mid-palate and earthy/soapy hop at the finish. The flavors are not as precise as the nose--general citrus versus orange/lemon. Modest nutmeg spice character.
Creamy but decently drying. Medium to medium-full bodied, with the oats lending more heft to the body.
A very pretty beer that doesn't taste quite as good as it looks, but is still pretty solid. The wheat tartness, creamy oat character, and hints of earthy spice are all interesting.
