First beer I have had from this Alberta badlands brewery - not disappointed.
Pours a clear golden with 2 fingers of frothy foamy white head - dissipates shortly.
Nose to glass and there is a grainy malt presence but honestly, and somewhat surprisingly, is an olfactory bombardment of roasty coffee/coffee beans.
Taste follows as now prepared for the onslaught of roasted coffee beans, yet in back there remains a clean refreshing light lager. The coffee flavour happily never moves into acridity.
Light bodied yet not at all thin with active carbonation - clean crisp and refreshing finish of a cold brew coffee/lager hybrid.

A coffee lager made with locally roasted coffee beans from Friendly Folk Coffee Roasters in Drumheller.

Appearance - Pours a clear gold with four fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - bitter coffee bean, roasted malts, cocoa, earthy and leafy hops, and earthy lager yeast.

Taste - coffee bean upfront then goes into the roasted malts and cocoa. The earthy, leafy hops alongside the earthy lager yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation. Finishes crisp and dry with the coffee bean lingering.

Overall - A highly flavourful and sessionable brew that delivers on the coffee front. This brewery is certainly starting to make some solid brews!
