This Kolsch-style beer is brewed and fermented like an ale and then cold aged like a lager. The clean and crisp flavours make it very approachable and refreshing. Beautifully uncomplicated. Lighthorse is as dependable as the brave men and women that serve our country.

473 mL can received in a trade - thanks, ewpass! Dated 12/XX/2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours foggy, translucent gold, with more than an inch of lumpy, foamy white head rising from the surface. It lasts for a little over five minutes, coating the glass with a curtain of lace as it recedes down to a creamy cap and collar; it's undoubtedly an attractive beer. Bready, wheaty malts on the nose, with hints of white grape, floral hops and a spritz of lemon zest.
A tasty little lagered ale - I'm still getting that vinous/grape-like fruitiness, backed by flavours of bready, biscuity malts and wheat graininess. Restrained noble hops on the back end; grassy & herbal with a hint of citrus, leading to a slightly fruity finish followed by an off-dry aftertaste. Light in body, with relatively low carbonation that rolls gently along the tongue, adding some crispness to this exceptionally smooth brew. Excellent drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.83, a solid B+. Bogside's Lighthorse won me over immediately with its beautiful appearance and fragrant aroma - and it tastes pretty darn good, too. A better-than-average lagered ale with more personality than many of its Ontario-brewed equivalents - I'd drink this again if I could, as I believe it'd be an ideal pick for the coming summer months. Big thanks again, ewpass!

Semi-hazy deep gold with a thick head and cap. Super inviting cereal malt nose. Light mild body with strong crispness, carbonation and some dryness. Very refreshing.
