Born in the heart of Mexico in 1899, Sol is a bright and refreshing lager.
It’s inspired by the sun and brewed to shine just like those who drink it. The ones that radiate good vibes, that lighten the mood and always look at life on the bright side. The ones who not only shine, but shine their way.

12 oz. bottle poured into tight nonic
(best by date printed on neck: March 20, 2022)
L: clear pale yellow with lightest hint of gold; topped by thin head of white foam about 1/3-inch tall; keeps nice collar and almost a full skin; light sticking and lacing
S: peaches, bready peach malt, dusty stale corn
T: more grain than bread malt but the same notes from the nose are here in the flavor; it has a lingering peach kolache aftertaste that's nice; no major hop presence but there is a light earthy/black pepper note that flashes
F: light and fluffy with a small amount of big-bubbled carbonation ... it's almost flat by macro-brew standards but it's not flat, plenty of prickle in the development toward the finish; over time it comes off as heavier than a lightweight, maybe a light-middleweight
O: nice adjunct lager with more malt presence than most American versions; super easy to drink and in big mouthfuls; if the ABV were 3.5 instead of 4.5%, it might be perfect

It is strangely smooth - you can drink it like water. Otherwise a pretty standard beer.

Bright gold under a small white head with just a few spots of lacing. Corn eats away at the lightly hopped leafy aroma. Sweetness pushes aside any traces of bitterness in the taste. Lots of carbonation with a light bodied mouthfeel. Not rock bottom nor a clear winner

At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Monterrey, Mexico brewery...

From bottle - light color, heavy corn smell, taste is watery with some corn. It's not as bad as I expected, it's definitely a mass produced lager. Cheers.

Interesting...this seems to originally be a Mexican beer, but is now brewed in Holland as a part of the Heineken group.
Very pale colour. Contains glucose syrup and hops extract. Bottle is a similar shape to a corona, just not as cool looking. More head than I was expecting. Mega watery. Very faint hops and sweet malt in the aroma.
Almost like drinking fizzy water or kvas. So so light. Not quite as light as a Polish beer called Donner that I recently drank. But close. It only has hops extract, and tastes like fizzy water with added flavourings. Likely it's brewed in a very short time and processed lots. Tastes better straight from the bottle, but it's still pretty terrible. No major off flavours at least and the hops extract is light and refreshing. And at least it's not overtly sweet.
One of the lightest beers of all time. Made cheaply with both glucose syrup and hops extract. Definitely aimed for money, not the consumer. I'm pretty sure the Mexican one was better than this.

Clear yellow color. Nice white head. Light Aroma of malt and grass. The taste is minimal and mostly malt . Only for hot a summer day. Can't compete with Corona.
