A traditionally styled, golden amber Extra Special Bitter - showcasing Maris Otter and Crystal malts, and single-hopped with Comet. Shortbread and roasted chestnut on the nose, with a fine-toothed bitterness to balance light caramel notes.

Canned on 5/4/2022. Poured into an Industrial Arts pint glass. It pours a hazy, honey-orange color with a half finger of foamy, milk-white head and minimal lacing. It's well-carbonated with myriad tiny bubbles ascending the glass. The smell is spot-on with caramel/toffee, roasted, nutty malt, and a whiff of spice. The taste is more bitter and spicy than anticipated. The caramel malt comes through at the finish but the taste is dominated by burnt nuts and bitter char. Its mouth feel is crisp with lively carbonation and the 5.4% ABV is no impediment to drinking. Overall, Comet ESB is enjoyable. It would be interesting to try a less carbonated version on cask.
