Drunk fresh at the source in September 2023.

L: The beer is a hazy peach nectar orange with a fluffy white head. Many strands of bubbles race up the glass.

S: Clean malt and mild herbal bitterness.

T: Taste is mild, yeasty fruitiness, with a thin and soda-like end note. Bitterness is minimal, and the ending is sweet but abrupt.

M: The mouthfeel is full, with minimal carbonation, but the thin finish stands out.

O: This is an enjoyable beer, but the thin, soda-like finish drops it down a notch, reminding me of some of the more macro beers that I'm touring Germany to avoid.

Cheers!

From the bottle, it pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a nice head. A bit of grass in the nose. The mouth gets a nice nibble of hops, along with a nice mild maltiness. Enjoyable...

A naturtrüb kellerbier, from Döbler, in the picturesque village of Bad Windsheim. Vom Faß it comes out a flat yellowish color, and it's cloudy. Sort of looks like your average Hefe in appearance. It has a healthy, billowy white head; easily 2" plus. Minimal carbonation is seen within the liquid. Head lasts ok, and lacing is also decent. Reichsstadt has a mild, grassy aroma. Hops are definitely there, but I had trouble finding any maltiness. The Bier has a good, medium body, and offers a minimal prickliness on the tongue. Light, crackery malt leads off, with more grassy, floral hops being in evidence. The hops linger a bit, though in general, no one thing really stands out. A decent, above-average Bier, but Döbler has better.

Prosit!!
