Enjoyed at the brewery this past weekend.

A - Dark brown color that's almost black with toffee colored lacing.

S - Coffee, roasted chocolate and cream aroma. Overall, the aromatic blend is nicely done.

T - Roasted chocolate malt with light char and milk cream. Ends balanced with some lingering char.

M - Creamy on the palate that's wet on the tip of the tongue and dry on the back.

O - Enjoyed this beer.

From the can it pours a clear dark mahogany color and looks black in the glass. A large creamy, tan, finger length head retains well.

The nose is sweet with plenty of notes of milk and dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, biscuity and nutty malts. It has a creamy quality, as well as aromas of dark fruit, raisin, cinnamon like spice and woodsy hops.

Full bodied, creamy and with a sweet opening. The mouthfeel is very smooth and gentle carbonated. Creamy flavors of milk chocolate are complimented by notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, lightly roasted coffee and nutty malts. Flavors of rich biscuity malts, caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. As the roasty flavors develop, so does the hops bitterness. The hops flavors are woodsy and earthy and are especially felt in the finish, which is dry and subtly roasty.

I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. Considered a Milk/Sweet Stout, I pinned it as a dessert beer. However, it’s pleasantly surprising bitterness makes it good as a stand alone too.
