From the can, pours a cloudy orange color. A vigorous pour yields a large frothy head that retains well.
The aroma is fruity and sweet with tropical notes of pineapple and guava. In addition, there are citrusy aromas of candied orange and lime, along with herbal notes of grass and pine.
The taste opens sweet and juicy with a piney and peppery herbal hops spice. Medium bodied, perhaps a tad thin for a DIPA, moderate carbonation and prickly hops mouthfeel. The malt backbone is likewise thin, with cracker malt flavors overshadowed by hops. Flavors of grapefruit, orange, lime, pine resin, tropical fruit and a touch of alcohol spice. The finish is dry.
The aroma is its best feature. The body is a bit thin and the flavors are a bit unbalanced, but overall it’s not bad.
