From the can, it pours a clear color with a large frothy head. The head displays good retention, while there is a slight orange hue in glass.
Tart aromas evoke notes of lemon, sweet lime and a light lactobacillus funk. Fruity notes of pineapple and lulo, as well as wheat and bready malt.
Very tart and sour with a bone dry and mouth puckering finish. Flavors of pineapple, lulo, lemon and lime provide fruitiness while the bready malt backbone is pretty much overshadowed by the acidity. There is a modest amount of peppery hops spice. Light bodied with a sour twang derived from lactobacillus. The carbonation is moderate. Very easy to drink.
This was a very mouth puckering sour, perhaps not for those not acclimated to the style. I would have it again as it was very refreshing.
