Pours a semi cloudy pale straw color. Carbonation is visible and audible. A large head billows to the top but dissipates soon.
The nose opens with typical characteristics of Witbier, particularly notes of orange peel, coriander and wheat. However, aromas of Thai basil, ginger and lemongrass add a unique spice.
In the taste, a soft and sweet wheat backbone supports the spices. Notes of ginger, lemongrass and basil add a restrained spice. Nevertheless, the adjuncts never overwhelm the base style and nicely compliment notes of coriander and citrus peel. Midway, the palate gets drier. The finish is dry, lightly spicy and with a touch of bitterness.
Medium to light bodied. The mouthfeel is smooth. The carbonation is lively. Easy to drink overall.
Interesting take on Witbier. The Thai spices add some unique flavors.
