On draught at Thompson Island Brewing, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Pours a clear golden amber color. A fingernail length head retains well.
The nose showcases traditional WC IPA notes of citrusy and herbal hops, as well as a touch of tropical fruit. Aromas of zesty lime, orange, grapefruit, mango and peach, as well as notes of pine and grass.
The taste highlights flavors of grapefruit, orange, pine and grass supported by moderately sweet cracker and caramel malts. Balanced by a bitterness that is slightly assertive but smooth. Notes of peach, apricot, mango and pineapple.
Medium bodied with a mouthfeel that is in between crisp and smooth. The finish is dry with a light crispness to it. The carbonation is moderate.
Nice IPA overall, easy to drink as evidenced by the fact I had two of them. It doesn’t quite have the bitterness of traditional West Coast IPAs, nevertheless, it strikes a nice balance.
