Poured from 16 oz. can into a Pilsner glass. It pours a murky, dirty orange color with a thick, fluffy, milk-white head and clinging lacing. It has a super fragrant, fruity nose featuring tangerine, lemon, grapefruit, fresh honeydew melon, and a hint of lactose. The taste opens with tart citrus - lemon peel, grapefruit, and a hint of lime. Initially, it's less sweet than the smell would indicate but as it warms I can taste more pineapple, ripe melon, and even a hint of peach. The Galaxy and Mosaic hops contribute big, bold fruit flavors. There are also earthy malt overtones which I assume come from the Calypso hops. Centennial hops are used for bittering and also provide notes of resinous pine. This ale has a nice, thick mouth feel with moderate carbonation, and the 7.1% ABV gives it a nice kick. Overall, I have to say I'm very impressed by this offering. I'm not totally surprised given the prior ratings and reviews. Trails is one of the better NE IPAs brewed in New Jersey. I like this brewery and will definitely seek out Trails again.

My first and only beer from High Rail so far but definitely not my last, as I’ve just moved to the area and this beer was really impressive. Walked up to a window and swiped my card for to go order amidst coronavirus outbreak.
This beer reminded of an other half ipa which in my view is high praise; the lactose smooths things out without ever becoming heavy handed whilst the fruity hops and medium sweetness make for a delicious combination with a bit of skunky dankess In the finish to make sure you’re still awake. Medium to slightly full bodied. I only had one per night before followed up with a stronger abv selection but that has been enough to get me and I’m excited to try more offerings form the promise brewer

Very tasty new England style ipa. Gorgeous thick head that lingers. Aroma is bursting with fruits and sweetness with a strong hop presence. The flavor pairs well with the aroma, substantial fruity hop notes with a perfect pairing of bitterness to keep it from going over the top. Fantastic beer overall.

I don’t know if this is this place’s first canning run, but it was surprisingly good. Looked like thick orange juice, had that fruity hop aroma, and tasted somewhere between bitter and sweet, right where I like my NEIPAs. Nice thick mouthfeel. Overall well done.
