(draft pour in a Euro pint at the brewery - serving partially built from persistently foamy draft line; listed as 'Agave Lave' on the hard-copy draft list)
(arranged from notes)
Unfiltered, cloudy, pale amber liquid; silky-spongy foam, decent lacing... on the nose: mellow earthy phenolic smoke, honey-kissed cereal grain undertone, mild floral-tropical fruity fragrance... on the palate: smoky phenol apparent immediately, but awash in cream-of-wheat, cereal grain meal; by second sip, subtle honey-ish agave sweetness swells in the finish, but the smoke seems to take some edge off its richness; the phenols in the aftertaste, matched with its yeasty-wheaty foundation, eventually express a vague witbier flavor... owing to the built pour, very foamy, smooth textures; hint of alcohol glow
summary: according to the website, the agave syrup was smoked, no mention of smoked malts... overall, it was good - it reminded me of an attempt I'd made a few years back to homebrew a Kottbusser... would be interesting to see them tighten this up, though I understand the pour could've misrepresented its intentions (1485)
