Pours like a cup of coffee. Very little head. Smells chocolatey with a hint of booze. Tastes malty sweet. A little biscuity. The alcohol is apparent on the back end but in a good way since this is supposed to be a scotch ale. It's very creamy to drink. Very little carbonation. Warming. This would be excellent after spending all morning shoveling a heavy Wisconsin snow.
I think I would call this more of a porter than a scotch ale but I'm very happy with it either way. Would recommend and definitely will drink again.
