Having lived in northern Scotland for 4 years, I have had to try every " Scottish style" ale that I can. (in moderation) This one was in a can, poured at 55 degrees into a imperial pint glass. A somewhat reddish , darker brown (Amber). Nice off white head. Good carbonations. Not overly bitter, with a smooth mouth feel. I did not find this as sweet as some others, which was good. Nice finish. Very drinkable. I'll keep[ a few in the beer refer.

L: Pours a nice reddish brown with a nice tan head and excellent lacing.
S: Caramel and toffee.
T: Caramel, hints of dark fruit.
F: Medium bodied, nice carbonation.
O: No date on the bottle, purchased in late August. Thought it was pretty tasty, but it had kind of a funky finish.

L: light chestnut brown with amber brown highlights blanketed by a 2" light tan foam collar with moderate to good retention

S: Rich malts, a hint of caramel, a trace of chocolate, nuts, dark dried fruit, grain aromas and a faint trace of diacetyl (movie popcorn butter) rise form the glass

T: rich malt flavors of nuts, nut bread, spice, a hint of anise, dark caramel, traces of chocolate, dark dried fruits, prune, grains and medium sweet kettle sugars

F: creamy, chewy, with medium low carbonation and mild warming

O: Nice rich malt flavors make this a beer to order.
