Reviewing this beer on 9-3-19, so I don't know why it's listed as a retired beer. A hazy yellow. Had this before so I forgot to sniff it before diving right into the taste. Very fruity, both citrusy and melony. Soft foamy head gives way to a slight bitterness, before revealing a juicy and smooth finish. It both quenches and leaves you wanting more. I could go at this all day, and since the ABV is relatively low for the style, I can have one more. Solid beer

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Very hazy pale yellow color that looks almost like OJ. Bright white 2 finger head that fades very slowly and leaves a thin collar and webbed lacing on the glass. The aroma is bursting with juicy tropical and ripe citrus notes and a touch of sweetness. Flavor is also very juicy with plenty of pineapple, guava, papaya, tangerine and sweet grapefruit. A bit of sweet malt, but it still has a bitter finish. Feel is medium with softer carbonation and a light dry finish. This was sensational and is right up there with the best NEIPAs coming out of WI.

12oz bottle, aromé glass. Cloudy golden yellow body, medium in hue, one and half finger white head, good retention, lots of lacing. Smell is juicy grapefruit, a bit of caramel, light toasted malt, citrus and a touch of floral. Flavour is a very nice soft and juicy grapefruit, not too sweet caramel, light lemon zest, touch of resin on the backend, minimal bitterness. It's soft, lots of hop aromatics, without any malt oddities. Well-executed. Mouthfeel is a soft medium bodied, good carbonation, incredibly easy to drink despite the big hop aromatics. Minimal bitterness. I think this is one of the first NE IPAs produced in my neck of the woods that I thought executed it well. There are a lot of NE IPAs being made in Wisconsin, but despite being hazy (to a fault, some beers look like they dumped flour in it) they can be harsh, not as juicy, and have an unpleasant burn on the backend. This one exhibits none of that- balanced, sweet in a juicy way, mild bitterness with a good body. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would, and that's saying something as I've historically not been a fan of One Barrel.
