Winter Break is black, black, black, with a modest head. The smell is dark roasted malts. The taste is those dark roasted flavors, with just a little bourbon (surprisingly little), and more cocoa kicking in as the beer warmed. The ABV isn't really noticeable. Overall, this is a fine Russian Imperial Stout, without any gimmicks. If you're not a fan of over sweet pastry stouts, look for this one. Serving: on tap in Madison.
