Aggressive sweetness is cloying and makes it not very crisp / refreshing.
Hard to finish this, perhaps it was an off batch.

Another excellent take on a traditional beer style by FF.
Poured from a can into a pilsner glass. Decent foam, but the color is truly beautiful. Sort of hazy, gorgeous straw gold.
The aroma is a bit light, let's call it elegant.
The taste is almost Kolsch-like. The first sip is crisp, gradually yielding to grains and sourdough with a touch of sweetness. Almost no hop presence, which is just right for the style. Although I do love me some noble hop experience, but there are other lagers that czech that box.
Worthy.

16 oz can, dated July 2024
Pours a brilliant clear yellow golden color, thick white head. Nice bready pale malt flavor in the aroma and taste. Balanced taste, not too sweet. Medium bodied, nice smooth feel.

On tap into a dimpled mug at Freak Folk Bier in Waterbury, VT.
This one pours a just slightly hazy golden yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like bready and doughy malt, honey, and lemony hops.
This is a really good take on helles, with a light hop character, and a rich, smooth and doughy malt character. There's some honey-like sweetness, but it feels bittersweet rather than fully sweet, with no brewing flaws here.
This is light bodied, crisp, clean, with a really refreshing kick to it that demands another sip.
This is my first beer from Freak Folk that wasn't a wild ale of some sort - I like that they want to brew a lot of different styles for the taproom.
