Pours a soda-like brown, with a light tan head that’s dense enough to eat with a spoon. Certainly not the viscosity level I want in a stout, but sits black in the glass with a head that really sticks around.
Aroma of dark fruits, fruity coffee, marshmallows, and dark chocolate. Eh.
Not sure what I was expecting from a primarily wild ale / mixed fermentation brewery, but the flavors are relatively uninspired. Lacking richness and depth, it’s almost Belgian quad-like in flavor and composition. Dark fruit up front, then transitions to metallic floral vanilla, coffee ice cream and artificially flavored marshmallows. Finish is reminiscent of Bailey’s, but without any of the liquor accompaniment that I would have liked from the barrel. Just a bit too light for a 12% beer.

Squid ink black with a rather actively foamy, espresso crema head that retains fairly well. Whoever the idiot doing headless boss pour pics with this on UT is, well, an idiot.
Moderately viscous yet frothy, the mocha character comes with a bit of an Irish coffee punch before to a tangy vanilla finish and a softly roasty exhale.
