a basic lager here and really the least ambitious beer i had from these guys while i was in, but it probably makes sense for them to have something like this, real minimal, easy drinking, wide appeal, and comperable to whatever yellow beers the good people of this small town have been used to drinking before craft. it was also unfortunately the least impressive beer i had here from an execution standpoint, which i guess is more to say how good the others were than that this was bad. its clear golden in color, deeper than a macro lager, but still light and visually appealing. aroma is slightly estery, more funny yeast character than i want in a lager, and it almost gives it a sort of old school cream ale vibe, not as crisp as it should be or like i want something like this to be. its off dry, with some honey character from the malt running through it, and there arent quite enough hops at the end for this to appear balanced. its got a lot of promise though, a neat mineral profile underneath it all, and more flavor from the yeast which is common, i like that, it just needs to be refined a little bit. im sure this one will get better and better as they evolve from batch to batch.
