Draft at pedaler's fork. Interesting! Low carbonation, light body, nice light copper color. Definitely can taste the pepper, and it's got a bit of spiciness to it, does not last though. Fun beer, like it.

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a Jalapeño ale at 5.2% ABV. It's poured a slightly hazy deep-amber colored body beneath a thumb's width of medium bubbled white foam. As I've been typing this, however, the head has dropped and now I can see the surface of the beer with just a few spots of bubbles here and there and hardly any collar around the glass. In a way that's not surprising as the acids and oils from the chilis will kill the head, and at just 5.2% ABV there can't be that much malt there to fight it. In the nose there's some clear Jalapeño but it's not as bright as I've found in some other chili beers. I'm not finding much else either but it's still a good aroma. On to the taste which is the most important part... the Jalapeño remains but it's not really that strong. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing depending on your tastes but I could go for more. The malt is bready and dull, and although I can't specifically pick out anything that denotes oxidation (papery, cardboard, etc.) I'm thinking that the dullness indicates that it's on its way. I wish more breweries would put packaging codes on their cans but I understand that sometimes that's just not possible with mobile canning, or they just don't have the money for an ink-jet printer. There is still some sweetness to the malt, and there's very little bitterness to it, and in the end it's pretty well balanced with the peppery spiciness doing all of the work. The carbonation is moderate, just like the bitterness, which is a very good idea as the carbonic acid from the C02 amplifies the spiciness, but it seems a little dull in the mouth. The body is medium. I'm about halfway through it now and I don't have a great burn on my lips which is nice. Personally I usually like a good bite, but for most people you want it to have everything it promises without going overboard and this is well balanced. I still probably wouldn't drink more than one but given the right meal to go with it I could see that as a possibility. I wish I could try this fresh but I cannot. I think it would score a whole lot better.

Came in the Iowa craft beer tent advent box in 2021. 1 finger of fizzy head that dissipates rapidly, atop a copper colored clear liquid. Smell is chili pepper, with nice breadiness. Taste is same, and the chili actually complements the malt pretty nicely rather than dominating. Mouthfeel is fair and equivalent to a mild to medium macro-salsa. Would not ever order a chili beer, but this one is better than the others I’ve been (un)fortunate to have.
