This sour from Zony Mash is delicious! Tastes of mango with a hint of carrot on the backend. Absolutely lovely beer. Needs more love from the masses!

Found this at the Total Wine in Baton Rouge when I was down that way not too long ago and was totally intrigued. Who ever heard of such a beer like this and could be as good as I anticipated? Sure enough, this *was* that good as it was an ideal Fruit and Field beer that was a ton of fun, from the get-go down to the last sip!

Ever had a beer that looked like a carrot and mango mashup? I hadn't either until I smiled when this came out of the can. Bubbly, topped off with a lively head, and oh-so-pleasing to the eye, this was beautiful in hue and loud as the thin, champagne-like head settled down. No lacing or suds were left behind as the liquid was nice enough to stand on it's own. Loads of carrot, yeast, mango, and citrus, and vegetable field in the nose as the taste closely and nicely followed suit. Not too heavy, hardly spicy, and plenty rustic in tone, this was crisp on the palate and an amazingly smooth drinker given what went into it. A bit of raspberry tartness kept things funky as this had great balance with me nearly doing a double take once or twice!

I say that because this felt like carbonated juice, and seeing that one of the founders of Zony Mash worked for Smoothie King, it's not too hard to see how he had a hand in concocting this. So easy to down more than one (if I had more cans here) as the alcohol was nearly imperceptible. All that's missing was a date on the can and an explanation of why the ABV on it was 7.2%, but the design and label layout were on par with this winner of a brew. Fruit and Field Beers don't get much better than this!
