Released for the first time in bottles, Vince is our farmhouse ale featuring the gorgeous botanical elements of gin casks from our friends at Copperworks Distilling.
When we debuted batch one of Vince last year as a draft-only release, it was one of our most requested beers to be packaged. We took notice of these impassioned demands, and now we’re thrilled to share the second batch with you all!
The most marked difference to this version of Vince is a drier finish thanks to 7 months aging in gin casks – but still expect a bold expression of juniper and citrus notes, all enveloped in a refreshing, restrained tartness.

A gin cask aged saison? Yes please!
This pours a thin bright metallic golden yellow. Tight foam. The nose is fantastic. Botanicals and juniper come forward. It’s bright and lively with a crisp finish. Glad I gave this one a try. Absolutely fantastic.

Pours light cold, slightly clear and also slightly cloudy. Big bubbly head, this thing almost poured like a champagne but with better retention.
Aroma acidic, bright lemon/lime, slightly sweet smell to it almost like a lemon bread.
The gin comes out in the taste along with the aromas above. The gin is present for sure in its pine/juniper flavor. It really lingers in the aftertaste once it warms up a little.
Mouthfeel is soft, bright carbonation, and ever so slight a warming sensation in the throat from the gin. I only noticed this as the beer warmed up. Leaves a slight acidic sour feel on the tongue as well.
As a gin fan I’m enjoying this beer. I don’t drink saison often but this is nicely balanced and quite nice to drink.

Had on tap. Cloudy golden body with two fingers of white foam and lazy lacing. Aromas of the gin and oak right away remind me of some of afterthought's saisons, big lemon and general citrus, decent barrel funk, light juniper and straw. Taste is much the same, but how the gin grabs onto the citrus and raises it to new heights is really impressive, rustic grains, hay, juniper, oak, wild yeast, brett and and light funk round out. Feel is light, bright, medium bodied, frothy, playfully sour and funky. Damn delicious saison that not only shows off the barrel but melds with it
