My second from Aldersbach. (My first was courtesy of Costco's extensive Holiday pack, aka Advent Calendar.) At that time, I could not find Aldersbach's website. Now I can, but it is still in German only; so a short micro-review. Only to say that it was started 8 centuries ago as a Kloster and continues to this day. Impressive given all that has happened since then. But it also is in a remote part of Bavaria, in fact closer to Austria and Pilsen than Munich. More important, it seems to have three lines: a traditional line that extends from Bavarian brews to styles of Northern Germany. Another line is more experimental that includes ales, especially IPAs. And a third line is Alcohol Frees. All good to break from tradition and shows craft. For all the above, I give good Overall Hugs.
As for Maibock, it seems traditional. Since its Looks are cloudier and has less foam, I rate it barely above average. Smells are average. Tastes are balanced for a malt-head like me; but others will want more hops. Feel is refreshing, but only because this was a hot day. Purchased from London's Hops Burns & Black.

Pours a clear yellow with soft head.
Smell is malty and a bit sweet. Notes of toast, citrus and wheat dough with some spicy hints.
Taste is malty, spicy, sweet and a bit boozy. Notes of citrus, toast and wheat dough with a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, a bit creamy and well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice Bock, just a tad boozy.
