a solid if basic take on the style, clean and well made, perhaps a little more flavorful and less light than is common, almost like a slightly over hopped pils, but its not hops that make this seem a little big, its the grain and yeast flavors, they both seem to combine to give it body, and while it seems traditional enough, it also comes across as a half step more substantial than most, still drier, close to crisp, super bubbly, and without anything being out of place. its not perfectly clear but it looks nice in the glass, a good inch of white head it from the tap at the brewery. the nose has some grassy european hops and bitterness to it, the flush and fuller minerals of the water, some slightly doughy grain character, and the right yeast for the style, just turned up a little bit, which is true in the flavor as well. its neat to have the hops run all the way through this, they arent just at the end, but then the finish is quick. nothing outrageous overall here, but a good first impression from these guys, i liked both beers i had time to drink in here, cool spot too!
