Now, the smart play would have been to get out of the house early and up to the Gathering Ground for hash and see the ogre, but we don’t play so smart sometimes. Like I’ve said before; the ladies don’t move quite as fast in a ‘throw a hat on and let’s go’ kind of way so this was to be a later start day. Still, we’re on schedule to get over after opening and meet up, situation salvaged. In a strip mall near the river on the eastern side of town…

Beth said something about the Ocean State Job Lot but decided not to go there and instead come and drink beer with us. She is wise. Open space with concrete floors and high white I-beam & corrugated ceilings with blended ductwork, spinnys, & drop wood bars with 3 dangle filament bulbs caged lighting. Large windows fronting and white walls with hop farm pics, large spirograph prints, hanging shirts, a collection of aquatic underwater pics along the corridor to the side, and a logo wall piece painted. And there’s clusters of strung ropes running up to the ceiling as if someone was intending to grow hops in here (interesting). Potted plants & viney things. 2 long rows of tables low & hightop shared and pumpkin lined (t’was the season). A trio of raised roundies up front & couches along the far wall.

Bar to the rear for ordering at. 12 non-descript handles (an 8 tap row forward & a 4 tap row further back) on the logo fronted cold box wall to one side of the bar. And I spy a handpump back there, too, unfortunately nothing on today although it was said that they do Saturday firkin action. Shelved boxing piece behind the bar with snacks and hats and glassware and wine and beer books.

12 taps; 11 beers up (Warp Mill Pils, Czech Pils, side pour, 5.7%; Prova #29, Sangria inspired Sour Ale, 5.9%; Piccolo, Belgian Tripel, 7.5%; Cranberry Piccolo, Belgian Tripel with Cranberry, 7%; Crumpet Worthy, English Style Ale, WeHa collab, 5%: Putting Down Roots, Hoppy Dark Amber, 6.5%; Vesuvio, Altbier, 5.3%; Bounce Haus, Juicy IPA, 5%; Double Bounce, DIPA, 6.8%; Xport, Robust Stout, 6.5%; Ristretto, Stout with Coffee, 6.4%), a single cider (New England Blueberry Cider, 5.2%), & 3 wines from Lost Acres.

Warp Mill Pils, on the side pour, crisp & actual fire, damn; Xport, Robust Stout, rich, tasty, I’m all about the Stout; Ristretto, Stout with Coffee, yep, that’s a cup of strong coffee; Crumpet, English Style Ale, pleasant, crisp, easy drinking ESA; Cranberry Piccolo, Belgian Tripel with Cranberry, wonderfully tart & boggy. Warp Mill Pils, Xport, & Cranberry Piccolo for the wins, but really, there were no clunkers here. Little brew system back there to the rear of the rear gets the job done.

Very chill house, the beers were all quite good. Guy singing and playing the gee-tar over there (me, pointing). Weekend food trucks, bring in your own, or they’ve got giant pretzels for the buy. Getting our beer on and then Kup showed up with the Jenny all engaged up. Woot! Good times time on the Connecticut River, this day. I need to look in on this one again.

Cool little store front brewery in small shopping center. Small service bar about half way back and on the right, but they are setup for covid table service with a dozen plenty small tables about the room. 11 beers and a cider on tap, I had the Hopigarchy which was very nice. Friendly service. They sell single cans to go...
