This was another dirtball visit Phoenix pickup. 1st review of this beer on BA.
Pours a golden yellow honey color with moderate clarity. An aroma that pumps the old school pine and rind to the gills. C hops of the non proprietary denomination anyone?
The taste begins to make me think about the Simcoe hop. A sturdy bitterness and otherwise traditional west coast ipa stuff bring me to this consideration. A claimed 93 ibus! Dang. These days I think brewers are claiming low numbers, and here they go close to triple digits! Its not a pure throwback, as the crystal malt days are completely absent here. This is a much more updated and minimalistic malt bill. Very light, especially up against that ibu level.
I basically suspect this is a relatively affordable beer to make. Old school hops, 2 row, maybe Simcoe. Thinking Centennnial/Cascade. Relatively simple and straightforward. Kind of nice, kind of evil.
