Birra del Moro “Pantone Republik”
33 cl brown glass bottle labeled “Da consumarsi entro il 08 20” and sampled in 11 19.
€3,33 from the brewery booth at a slow foods festival in Lucca, Italy
Notes via stream of consciousness: I’ve come to love chestnut beers over the years and so I couldn’t pass this one by. It’s poured a hazy deep-golden/amber colored body beneath a short head of white foam that’s steadily eroded before my eyes. The aroma mild but delivers a gently grainy maltiness. The flavor is much fuller, but no richer than a standard beer, and it’s got a subtle note of nuttiness and spice, as well as an undercurrent of soft apple. In the mouth it’s medium to medium-light in body and quite smooth with a very restrained carbonation that’s reminiscent to me of English cask ale (which explains the lack of head retention and lacing). In the end it’s a fairly basic beer that’s readily drinkable, and enjoyable, with just a touch of uniqueness to it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
