Appearance: Murky hazy straw color. 1 finger thin head that is quick to dissipate.
Nose: Sort of a thin non-descript melon note carried by a larger soft ale aroma. Not much in aromatics here.
Taste: Astringent watermelon. Thin, but has a little bite. Quickly trailing into a hoppier than normal wheat ale base.
Mouthfeel: Lower medium in body. Astringent watermelon and hop character stays on the palette for a semi-dry finish.
Overall: Pretty hoppy for a Fruited Wheat. My palette leans sweet, so I would probably reach for Hell or High Watermelon, but this is worthwhile for hoppier wheat drinkers. As always watermelon is a delicate flavor in beer, and I haven't found anything on this brew saying the flavor was added. So don't expect to be blown away like a flavored soft drink. Great to break the Wheat flavor monopolies.
