As a regular michelada drinker, a new local one was on my short list to try.
Pours a light orange with a slight pinkish hue, and suspended particles of tomato, lime, etc. A couple fingers of loose foam rise and fall, leaving sediment in the glass. For a michelada, this is par for the course.
Tamarind citrus spice is noticeable in the aroma, lime, tomato, salsa, maybe even a tiny bit of cumin or chili powder.
Salty taste, lime, chile heat, savory tomato and celery seed. Drinkable with a mild heat from the chile, though it’s a bit too salty. Light carb, slick feel. Overall I like it, but the salt could be dialed down a bit. It’s not quite on par with Shorts Bloody Beer, but maybe better than Modelo Diablo. Looking forward to future variations, hopefully something with mango.
¡Salud!
