I absolutely thought the orignal was severely underrated, a wonderful stout, this however missed the mark for me. Brownish black body with a tan foam head. Smell is the best aspect of this beer: roasted hazelnut, coffee, dark chocolate, artful booze, and earthy dark malts. Taste however had a smokiness to it that the roasted nuts and coffee just globbed onto enhancing it, roasted malts and booze exacerbated it too. Chewy, roasty, medium bodied, frothy in finish, but again, though a lesser degree to taste, the smokiness is present constantly

L: Thick, oily looking dark brown pour gives a frothy khaki head that lingers for awhile, leaving a nicely laced glass.
S: Wow, smells like freshly brewed cup of hazelnut flavored coffee, roasted malts a hint of cocoa.
T: Coffee, hazelnuts, cocoa some sweetness from the malts.
F: Thick, creamy, lightly carbonated.
O: Really a nice Imperial stout.
