Run of the mill coffee stout. Nothing spectacular or horrible about the stout or the coffee. Easy drinker.

Pitch black body with a brown head. Smells of coffee and roasted malt with dark chocolate. Taste follows suit but has an almost cola like flavor on the finish, slight alcohol burn as it warms. Feel is roasty and malty but maintains a light body though booze leaks a bit. Not bad, not great, forgettable

Pours pitch black and completely opaque. Thick mocha colored head forms on the beer upon pouring. It recedes but ultimately a thin layer of bubbly foam remains on top of the beer. Aroma is very coffee forward with notes of freshly ground coffee. That coffee has some acidity and berry notes to it. Notes of cocoa, roasted malts, and just a touch of sweet cream comes through.

Taste follows the nose in that this beer is very coffee forward. Notes of freshly ground coffee, earthy, acidic notes come through with notes of chocolate, roasted malts, roasted barley, and some moderately bitter hops. This is good, but it just has a somewhat rough/harsh quality to it. I am getting a slight alcohol burn which seems out of place for a 7% stout. That being said, its a solid coffee stout. Feel is thin, lacking a certain creaminess or heft that I tend to like with these kind of stouts. Prickly, vibrant carbonation.

Overall this was a solid coffee stout. I would definitely drink this one again if the opportunity presented itself.
