16 ounce can into a tulip snifter. Had 1/29/23.
Pours a darker amber, semi opaque, with a one inch head of creamy foam with good retention and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, caramel, spices, light Belgian yeast, light raisins and a hint of sulphur that fortunately dissipates. Flavors of malt, caramel, spices, some raisins. Smooth, a lighter and thinner feeling body for the style, a little under carbonated.
Doesn’t hit the marks as a Belgian. The caramel and raisins show well. A heftier body and a little more carbonation would help this greatly. Maybe it was an old or uncared for can.

Listed as a "Belgian Ale with Caramel, Raisins, and Holiday Cheer", this is a good solid brew with some of the advertised extras, though my palate may not be refined enough to pick up the Holiday Cheer (most likely holiday-ish spices). I wish it had more caramel but this is, after all, a Belgian. I also wish it were more grounded, more solid (it seems rather winey to me).
I do like this brew and I particularly like Obscurity Brewing for putting together the "Island of Misfit Beers" 4-pack, and pricing it so nicely, and I love love love the label. Does this have much to say about the taste? No, not really, but there are many reasons to like a brew. Pick up a 4-pack if you see one: it's a great adventure.
I really enjoy the brew

Appearance: Pours a clear, deep ruby color with a strong off-white head. SRM of 17. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong aromas of baked caramel, brown bread, toasted malts with Belgian spices including bubblegum, banana, and fig notes. (4.00)
Flavor: Strong flavors of rich bread malt, sweet banana and figs with a toasted caramel note. Some hints of raisin. Bubblegum and banana yeast flavors follow off the finish that is sweet. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied, strong carbonation and the alcohol shows a bit mixed with the Belgian spices. (3.50)
Compared to Anchor Steam Our Special Christmas 2022: Pours lighter, stronger aromas. More bread, yeast, Belgian spices, banana, bubblegum, figs. Less roasted malt and pine. Sweeter and less bitter.
Compared to Schells Snowstorm Mahogany Lager 2022: Pours clearer, similar color, stronger aromas. More yeast and Belgian spices including banana bubblegum figs. Less orange citrus. Similar bread but more yeasty. Heavier, sweeter, and the alcohol shows through more.
Overall: Sort of an "obscure" beer I'd say. Wasn't sure what to expect so listed it on here. Listed as a Belgian ale with caramel and raisins. Definitely has Belgian spices of caramel, figs, and banana. Leans sweet similar to a Belgian Strong Ale. Very nice flavors, the only downside is the alcohol shows a bit. (Rating: 3.99)
