I had a bottle of this at the brewpub on 26SEP10, accompanied by Caitlin for lunch. Cost was 2.60 for 0.5l. And, since we currently have no category for German specialty grain biers, I stuck this under Export, though it is by no means an Export.
Poured into a tall, handled, weizen-bier type glass, it was acloudy, dull-golden hue. A creamy, 1" thick, off-white head sat atop things. It stuck around a while, and laced up the glass nicely. Nose was mild, but flowery notes were detected. Medium bodied, it was a smooth bier, sliding down quite well.
Flavor is a bit bready at first, followed by a touch of sourishness. Some green apple and pear follow, lending a somewhat tart aspect to the bier. Quite refreshing yet different, I rather enjoyed this one with my lunch. Prosit!!
