Poured with a thumb of head that retained well with a dark brown body, berry notes with toffee and molasses on the nose which has a rich toasted bread and toffee malt that shifts to plum and berry notes with a touch of earth and herbs. The carbonation is great, as is the transitioning, although a bit low for the style. This is a rarity of a style which is generally considered more of a sipping higher class beer. This beer is milder then many of it's counterparts in the style, but it's done well and in an unpretentious fashion, like the brewer knew his limits and produced something wonderful.
