Appearance: Poured with two fingers of head that left mild lace and did not stick around. The body has only a hint of haze in a pale brass body that shows solid carbonation. I'm giving it a bit of a pass here though because I'm uncertain how long this can has been in my fridge.
Smell: Nose they name is coriander, as it dominates the nose as mild lemon and wheat malt are relegated to the background. Potency is solid and didn't need a lot of warming, but it is a bit one noted.
Taste: Coriander permeates the beer, although it starts off a bit milder as wheat malt with a hint of bubblegum starts us off and then the beer turns to a mixed citrus note of lemon, orange and mild grapefruit before a light bitter dust finishes us off. The coriander throughout the beer, gives everything a bit of a herbal note at the end.
Mouthfeel: That coriander really brightens and lightens things and keeps it crystal clean while drinking and it and the mildest citrus are all that is present on the aftertaste. That said, I think the carbonation here despite it's head disappearing might be a bit high, as I get a slight club soda vibe. That also said, again I'm giving a bit of a pass as I think this may have been in the fridge a bit too long.
Drinkability: On the lighter end of medium body, which for a 4.7 Wit seems a bit heavy to me. As I said earlier, that coriander is brightening things up here to make it seem not as heavy. Certainly refreshing that is for sure, but again, this is another case where I think because it was in the fridge for too long, it's lost some impact.
Final Thoughts: I have found that wheat beers don't last long in the fridge, and when you find a Wit or Hefe that has lost its haze, that has probably been the case, as it was here. I think I got the absolute tail end of when this should have been opened, which I guess isn't fair. That said, it did fare well and if I saw it again, I'd want to try it and give it another go, closer to the time it was made.
