Pint out of the cask at Liberal Cup.
Appearance: A clear ruby. Flat, as it’s out of cask.
Aroma: Not too much. A little toast, a little hop bitterness.
Taste: Follows nose. Some bitterness along with brown bread and an herbal note.
Mouthfeel: Very drinkable. Not especially bitter, really.
Overall: Decent brown ale. More herbal than bitter, though does have some bite. Pleasant cask beer that isn’t mind-blowing.

This beer is NOT retired, as I just had the chance to sample it on the hand pump a couple of days ago.
Ex-Wife Extra Bitter has a fairly dark brown colored body that still remains mostly translucent. The head of big bubbles from the hand pump sits on top of beer for a while and even leaves a spot or two of lacing.
The aroma has some sweet malt, some lightly toasted malt and a pretty big hop presence.
Ex-Wife Extra Bitter's flavor follows the aroma, displaying pretty aggressive hop and malt flavors. The lightly toasted, slightly grainy malt is the dominant malt flavor, with a little bit of sweet caramel malt being covered up a little bit. The hops are spicy and bitter, bringing a mix of earthy and grassy flavors.
The mouthfeel is excellent. It is smooth, creamy, and feels like this beer was brewed with the hand pump in mind, which is very nice.
Overall, Ex-Wife Extra Bitter is a pretty good ESB.
