Can get into a dopplebock but this one had to much darkness without the reward of flavor. Felt more like a stout without the complexity provided by a good d-bock. Do your D-bock elsewhere.

Artifact Brewing "Lonesome Love Us"
$4.14 / 8 oz. on tap at the Doylestown location on 24 May 2025
Look: Clear ruby-brown with orange and crimson highlights when held to the light. Short head of densely creamy tan foam.
Smell: Malty, caramelish, sugary, and fruity with apple.
Taste: As the aroma suggests but with more depth. It offers notes of both golden caramel and reddish caramel, and a touch of cocoa powder and darker chocolate. The bitterness is median and balancing. The alcohol is very well cloaked even at 8.7%.
Feel: Medium bodied on the fuller side and gently crisp then creamy smooth across the palate.
Overall: This is a solid doppelbock that's definitely worth trying.
