When the turbo kicks in so does the flavor! This coffee porter has all the rich and chocolatey characteristics of a traditional porter but with an extra boost of craft brewed coffee. Coming in at 7%; TURBO is a perfect way to either start or end your day

16oz undated can poured into a pint glass shows an opaque, dark maple-brown body, with cola colored highlights at the very edge. A slight 1/8in cap of cream colored mixed bubbles briefly forms before receding to an edge-hugging ring and leaving random spotted, leopard, and stepped lacing.

Coffee hits all right notes with no off aroma or flavor. Chocolate joins the dark roast coffee flavor in a smooth, full body.
The feel dissolves to a clean finish just after a sweet, slightly-better-than-metallic flavor balances out the bitter coffee bean.
Overall a nice example.

Taste: Roasted coffee, dark chocolate malts, hint of sweet, rich and a clean finish. Coffee bean malty nose. Black/Brown hue, semi clear, refined head of foam and nice ringed lattice. Medium body. Tasty with just the right amount of coffee flavors.

A pretty good Porter for an 18 month old !
Looks full and invitingly foamy. Smells are mostly a melange of darker malts and dried fruits. Tastes let the chocolate and coffee kick in; both slightly bitter, but my vote goes to the bittersweet chocolate. Sits soothingly and, still, refreshingly in the mouth. A great pairing with a cool spring day in which it was summer only two days earlier.

My first from 93 Octane and you have to like the story. A cicerone before he is legal to drink in some states; then continues on as a home brewer; then has to get a job and learns brewing from a string of micros and regionals. Then the plunge: models his own taproom-brewery 18 months ago and -- only two months after starting his shop -- the worst pandemic in history breaks out and closes down that model. It is a plunge into the Arctic. But based on the quality of Turbo, he knows well what he is doing. Good luck. Survive through 2021 and you will succeed.
